Support for Windows 10 is Ending on October 14, 2025
What does this mean to my practice?
After October 14, 2025, Microsoft will stop providing updates, security patches, and support for Windows 10, leaving your practice vulnerable to security threats and compliance risks. Cybercriminals often target outdated systems, exploiting unpatched vulnerabilities to steal patient records. Unsupported systems are also more likely to be affected by viruses, ransomware, and other malicious software, even with up-to-date antivirus software installed.
If you still have computers running Windows 10, now is the time to start planning and budgeting for an upgrade to Windows 11.
What happens if I use Windows 10 after October 14, 2025?
Windows 10 will still operate, but your computer will become more vulnerable to security risks.
Can I upgrade my existing computer to Windows 11 or do I need to replace it entirely?
Both are potential options. You can upgrade your existing computer to Windows 11 if it meets the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11; if it doesn’t, you’ll need to replace. The best next step is to schedule a free network assessment with Cornerstone. We will need 30-60 minutes (depending on the size of your practice) to assess the specs, age, and health of the existing computers. After that, Cornerstone will provide a detailed report and a quote for any recommended upgrades. Please contact Jordan Janz (303-241-9758, jjanz@cstonesolutions.net) to schedule a free assessment.
How long will Windows 10 be supported?
Microsoft is currently planning on ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2031.
